Fake Websites
Clones built to look like the real thing.
What it is
Scammers register lookalike domains (amaz0n.com, paypa1.com) to harvest logins or payments.
How it works
You see an ad, click a link, and land on a site that looks identical to the real one — but everything you type goes to the attacker.
How people get tricked
We trust visual design. If it looks right, we don't check the URL.
How to protect yourself
- ✓ Type known sites directly into the address bar.
- ✓ Look closely at the domain — extra words, numbers, or odd endings (.shop, .top) are warning signs.
- ✓ Bookmark important sites (bank, email) and use those.
- ✓ Use a browser that warns about known scam sites.

The padlock icon only means traffic is encrypted — not that the site is honest.
